IG Worldmusic Austria - the independent network of agents, artists, festivals, labels, media, NGO’s and promoters – is happy to welcome you at Womex.
We are very proud to present you Austrian Music production:
Last year, Fatima Spar and the Freedom Fries as well as DJ Dunkelbunt offered the first Austrian showcases ever, !DelaDap presented themselves at OFF-Womex. This year, the Booking agency “culture works” brought Renato Borghetti into the official selection; and DJ Achileia from Mazedonia – (in fact, we all know him as a real Austrian member of legendary Wiener Tschuschenkapelle) will give a DJ session.
This year, you will meet new faces at Womex – Vusa Mkhaya (Zimbawe) and Mamadou Diabate (Burkina Faso) and Alp Bora from Turkey will be present at our stand. And – of course, our agents are working hard to bring the best of world music directly to you! Our international (Austrian) acts include Célia Mara from Brazil, Hotel Palindrone from Austria, Natasa Mirkovic-DeRo from Bosnia-Herzegovina or Marwan Abado from Palestina… just to name a few. And you will find the agents of Brazilian Olodum and Yamandu, of Swedish SVÄNG as well as the Italian Time Project at our booth…
You’ll get all the infos about great festivals and cool clubs you’ll have to perform when coming to Austria! And you can get in touch with the representatives of labels, magazines and radios!

Actually our main activities are concentrated on networking & lobbying for worldmusic in Austria, we are involved in politics and public processes. We are engaged in the question of visa and migration laws as well as in radio quotas and public financing.
